I focus on preserving the character of psychedelic and experimental music while solving the problems that make a track feel unfinished. That means keeping the atmosphere, texture, and strangeness intact while improving translation, depth, clarity, punch, vocal placement, and release-readiness.
Q. I like the vibe of my rough mix. Can you keep that?
Absolutely. Your rough mix is an important creative blueprint. Before I start mixing, I listen closely to what is already working: the balance, effects, vocal placement, distortion, space, movement, and overall mood. The goal is not to erase the demo energy. The goal is to preserve what feels special while improving clarity, depth, impact, and translation.
Q. How many revisions are included?
Revision details depend on the project, but the process is designed to be collaborative. The best results usually come from clear notes after you have listened in a few environments. I want you to feel confident in the final mix, while keeping the process focused and productive. I stand behind my work and strive to make you completely satisfied. If we can’t arrive at a mix that you’re happy with after several revisions, you can keep the mix for no charge, no hassle and no hard feelings.
Q. Is it worth paying for mixing if I’m an independent artist?
If the song matters to you and you plan to release, promote, pitch, or build your catalog around it, a strong mix can make a major difference. A good mix helps your music feel more finished, more emotionally convincing, and more competitive next to the artists your listeners already love.
Q. I’ve had a bad experience with a mix engineer before. How is your process different?
I take the creative direction seriously before touching the mix. That means listening to your rough mix, understanding your references, asking what should stay weird, and clarifying what you do and do not want changed. I approach the mix as a collaboration, not as a takeover.
Q. Should I wait until the whole EP or album is ready?
Not necessarily. If you have one song that is ready, we can start there. Mixing one track first can also help establish the sonic direction for the rest of a project, especially if you are building a cohesive EP or album world.
Q. What other services do you provide?
In addition to mixing and mastering, I can provide vocal/instrument editing/comping and tuning, and rhythmic tightening/quantizing, for an additional charge. If you want to go this route, I will ensure your performances are spot-on without sounding artificial.
